Staff Profile
John "Air"
Morton
Manager

|
John Morton first came to work at the Tumalo Feed Company when he
was 16 years old back in 1992. Hired as a dishwasher, he came up through the ranks,
and was known as "Super Busser" during his high school years. John could
handle all 31 tables at once on a busy night, never falling behind, never leaving a water
glass unfilled or a table uncleared.
|
After high school, John left TFC and
worked in a cabinet shop and for UPS. But the call of the restaurant business was strong,
and he returned in 1996, working as a waiter and cook. Always enthusiastic, and
always ready to pitch in and help, John was soon again the anchor of a strong staff.

When the management ranks of the restaurant were
thinned by the opening of Niblick and Greene's, John saw another spot he could fill...that
of floor manager. After watching a newly hired manager being trained, and struggling
in the position, John stepped in and helped train the new manager. "I could do
this. I've been here long enough that I already know how everything is supposed to
work," he thought, and when the new hire didn't work out, John enthusiastically
stepped into the position.
|
John has grown in his position as floor manager, and
now is busy around the restaurant ordering food, writing schedules, keeping the storage
rooms neat and organized, and greeting customers and supervising the staff during his
shifts. He's a hard worker who leads by example and is respected by both his employers and
the rest of the staff.

It
should be obvious by now that in his spare time, John likes to get "air" on his
motorcycle and his snowboard (yes, these are all pictures of him!). He also likes to
work around the house he bought in 1999, and spend time in the woods cutting firewood.
John is single and lives in Bend.
